
Legendary Brazilian footballer Pele’s physical condition has further deteriorated. Pele, the 82-year-old football legend, is fighting cancer for a long time. He has to run to the hospital every month for treatment. Pele was admitted to Sao Paulo’s Albert Einstein Hospital on Tuesday for “general swelling” and “heart failure”. His physical condition further deteriorated. He is not responding to chemotherapy. And so, Pele was placed in the palliative care unit.
According to the World Health Organization, palliative care refers to a patient only when the disease is incurable. But the treatment will continue. Palliative care is the process of providing physical, mental, spiritual, and social support to the patient. All kinds of support are provided to the patient along with his family.

Meanwhile, fans around the world are praying for the football king’s recovery. From teammates to current footballers are on that list. Teammate Rivaldo and French forward Kylian Mbappe tweeted prayers for Pele.

Apart from the colon tumor, Pele suffers from many other health problems. In 2019, Pele underwent surgery to remove kidney stones. Last January, ESPN reported bad news about Pele. He was diagnosed with a tumor in his liver and another tumor was growing in his lung. Apart from this, Pele also underwent waist surgery due to difficulty in walking.
The real name of Pele, the greatest footballer of all time, is Edson Arantes do Nascimento. He won his first World Cup in 1958 at the age of 17, then won the World Cup in 1962 and 1970.
