Sam Curran broke all IPL auction records. The most expensive British star of all time. Breaking the previous record of Chris Morris, Karan was hired by Punjab Kings for a record price of 18.5 million rupees.

The record was held by South African all-rounder Chris Morris for so long. Earlier in the 2021 IPL auction, Rajasthan Royals bought Chris Morris for 16.25 crores. That was the highest. Sam Curran broke that record. Punjab rewrote that history by buying Karen.

Sunrisers Hyderabad bought English cricketer Harry Brook for 13 crores 25 lakh rupees. The 23-year-old batsman Brook recently scored 3 Test centuries on the tour of Pakistan to become the best of the series. In domestic T20s, he has a strike rate of 148.38 and an average of 33.7.

However, Harry Brook is not the second most expensive player in the 2023 IPL auction. That place belongs to Cameron Greene who played only 8 T20Is for Australia. The Australian batting all-rounder’s name came up in the auction shortly after Karen Dam made history. The main battle to get Green is between Mumbai and Delhi. In the end, Mumbai Indians got Green for 17.5 million rupees.

Through this, the second most expensive player in the history of IPL is the 23-year-old Green of Australia. Chris Morris dropped to three. But it is jointly. Because in today’s auction, Ben Stokes was bought by Chennai Super Kings for 16 crores 25 lakh rupees. The star all-rounder from England is now the most expensive player in the history of Chennai overtaking Deepak Chahar.

Nicholas Pooran was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 16 Crores. This left-handed batsman from the Caribbean got such a price as a reward for his great performance in the T10 league. Pooran is the most expensive West Indies player in the IPL auction.

India’s opener Mayank Agarwal was sold for the highest price before Harry Brooks. Sunrisers bought him for 8 crores 25 lakh rupees.

A total of 405 players participated in this year’s IPL auction. Among them, 273 are Indian cricketers. 132 foreign cricketers. Among the foreign cricketers, 4 cricketers are from allied countries. A total of 87 players can buy 10 franchises. Out of this, there are 30 places for foreign players.
