Asia Cup Again India vs Pakistan in the Same Group
Once again, the two neighbors India-Pakistan have fallen into the same group of the Asia Cup. Asian Cricket Council president Jai Shah gave this news in a tweet. In the first round of the 2019 World Cup, India and Pakistan have already met as everyone has played against everyone. In the first round of the 2021 T20 World Cup, the two arch-rivals have been drawn into the same group. After that, India-Pakistan met in the group stage of last year’s T20 World Cup. It was in one group in the T20 edition of last year’s Asia Cup as well. The same is happening in this year’s Asia Cup. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Jai Shah announced today that India-Pakistan will be in the same group for the Asia Cup to be held in September.
The ICC had already announced that the tournament will be held in Pakistan. But the ACC has appealed to the ICC for another host instead of Pakistan. Of course, there is a reason for this. India had earlier announced that they would not send a team if the Asia Cup was held in Pakistan. The ODI World Cup is scheduled to be held in India this year. In the end, if the Asia Cup is held in Pakistan and India does not participate, then it is natural to doubt whether Pakistan will send a team to the World Cup in India or not.

In 2022, India and Pakistan met three times in Asia Cup and T20 World Cup together.
As the bilateral series is not played, the only hope to watch India-Pakistan matches is the Asia Cup and ICC competitions. India defeated Pakistan in the group-stage match of the Asia Cup last year. However, Rohit Sharma’s team lost to Pakistan in the Super Four match.
